    1900 (April 30): De La Rue composite Essay for the ½ d. value, hand-painted on printed Key Plate imperforate in dull green without watermark, with Country name CAYMAN ISLANDS hand-painted in green and lined "½d." Duty Plate painted in turquoise-green with value picked out in Chinese white, superb with gum. Similar to or that illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 2472. An important and charming Essay, exceptional and of great rarity with just three examples recorded.rnNote: It should be stated that this Essay is identical, as far as can be with hand-painted Essays, to the James Podger FRPSL example offered by SG in September 2019 which we believe to be entirely genuine. This example was purchased privately by 'Besançon' in May 1985.

    1921/26: De La Rue, the Master Die for the George V head-plate: two pulls from the Plate engraved on cream wove paper (90 x 87 mm.), printed in deep black. Some creasing not detracting from the appearance, and of course, not necessarily for Cayman Islands as this head-plate was used for many British Colonial countries. However, 'Besançon' placed this Die Proof prior to the Cayman 1922 issue and thus we offer the Proof under this heading. A remarkable frontispiece and a most attractive Proof.
