The cover endorsed at base "Via Air Mail from New York to Chicago" in manuscript and prepaid to facilitate the extra costs of this service. Small opening faults but an extremely rare usage.

    1943: Registered cover ot This Cook's Office in New York sent airmail with 1927/37 100 m. purple-black, 1937/44 Boy King 4 m. green, 40 m. sepia, 50 m. greenish blue and rare usage of 50 p. sepia & green and £ 1 sepia & blue all tied by "COOK'S CAIRO / R&P" datestamps (July 26) with "CAIRO COOK'S OFFICE" registration cachet below. Censored on despatch and on arrival with three line SUPPOSED TO CONTAIN MATERIAL / SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONAL / EXECUTIVE ORDER". Reverse with Miami (Aug 16) cds and New York arrival (Aug 20). A few imperfections due to journey but scarce.

The adhesives struck with four line "SERVICE POSTAL FRANCAIS / Correspondance retardée / par accident d'avion / Priere de ne pas taxer" with reverse showing French P.O. transparent 'Postes et Télégraphes' Reseal tape tied by Uccle arrival (Dec 15).
