    1893: De La Rue Appendix sheet for the Key Plate issue, the page divided horizontally in two halves (the original illustrated in the 'The De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 6687), showing 16 stamps with fifteen values from ½ d. to £ 20 (two of the 1 d. duty) all with ZULULAND and the Duty Plates hand-painted in a variety of colours on Imperforate Plate Proofs in dull mauve or dull green, together with a further three Imperforate 6 d. values on red paper with ZULULAND hand-painted. A wonderful and most extraordinary page with full typed description from the De La Rue archives explaining the reasons for the red paper Proofs. Unique.

    1894/96: 1 d. dull mauve & carmine, a used block of twelve (4 x 3), cancelled by four strikes of circular POST OFFICE / UMLALAZI datestamp in violet (Jan 8, 1898) - no cover or card is recorded with this datestamp. Ex John Robson collection with his original write-up which fails to mention that the first stamp also shows the "Shaved Z" in Zululand variety.     1895: De La Rue Essays (2) for the 2 s. 6 d. value, with Key Plate Imperforate Proofs in dull green, one with Plate Number "1" in margin signed at base, each with  ZULULAND and Duty Plates hand-painted in black in differing formats, the plate number example being that chosen by the Crown Agents. Fresh and very fine Proofs, illustrated in the 'The De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 6688. Delightful and unique.

A remarkable and rare cover: with full original contents from the Eshowe Postmaster, B.G.
