    1894/96: 1 d. dull mauve & carmine, a used block of twelve (4 x 3), cancelled by four strikes of circular POST OFFICE / UMLALAZI datestamp in violet (Jan 8, 1898) - no cover or card is recorded with this datestamp. Ex John Robson collection with his original write-up which fails to mention that the first stamp also shows the "Shaved Z" in Zululand variety. Minor imperfection on third stamp but of great scarcity, the largest known multiple with this postmark.rnrnProvenance: Harmers, London, 25 Sept 1996, lot 177.
