    1916 (2. Jan.) Interniertenpost, Ganzsachenkarte zu 200 r. aus Pernambuco nach Hamburg. Der Absender der Karte is E. Wildt, der 4. Ingenieur der Henny Woermann, die die letzte Post aus Togo abholte. Der Dampfer verblieb in Pernambuco interniert, der Briefe erreichte über die Niederlande und die Auslandsstelle Emmerich ihren Empfänger. Leichte Öffnungsmängel tun der Seltenheit des Briefes keinen Abbruch.

    1914 ( Sep.) 20 Pf. ultramarine overprinted TOGO ANGLO - FRENCH OCCUPATION, overprint 3mm spacing and 5mm off centre to the left, horizontal pair on envelope as correct 2d franking for a standard letter to Wales. The Sender was a British nurse serving with the Togoland Field Force. The stamps are slightly tropical but otherwise clean and fresh, the flap on the reverse shows minor signs of eagerly anticipated mail being opened.     1914/1920: Collection of twenty-five incoming letters with a range of routes taken. The most extraordinary being a Spanish letter first sent on 10. Jan. 1915,  which went via Italy and Germany where it was stamped "ZURÜCK! KEINE BEFÖRDERUNGSGELEGENHEIT", so when it reached Spain again the route endorsement was changed to 'via Inglesa',  the letter franked again and it duly arrived in Togo four weeks later. This and other items are worth close inspection.

    1914: 10 c. green on 5 Pf. with double overprint and 40 Pf. carmine/black, PORTO NOVO overprint, on letter using French Government of West Africa, Dahomey Colonie stationery. The stamps are cancelled ANECHO (14. Dec.) in blue. The letter is addressed to ANTHIEME with an arrival mark dated 20. December. The German type canceller appears to have been misset and no month slug has been inserted as is recorded on other items from this date. The 10c. stamp has been overprinted by two different types. This variety is unrecorded in Michel. The envelope has been folded and displays waterstains. Nonetheless a most rare and remarkable cover. Certificates Kilian BPP (1980) and Bothe BPP (1983).

Transit marks GRANND-POPO (8. Jan.) and COUTONOU (9. Jan.) are on the reverse. One of the earliest uses of the "Boxing Day find" issue. A very rare letter.
