1851 (archive dated): Large part cover from Ballenar to Santiago endorsed 'por vapor' at left, struck with BALLENAR and FRANCA handstamps in rose red, struck again with FRANCA, CABOTAJE and VALPARAISO in red straight line handstamps. The cover was originally '1+2 = 3' reales (1 r. for Ship's Captain and 2 r. for Post Office) the rate had just been lowered and these handstamps were deleted by the FRANCA. 1938: Essays (6) by José Moreno (who designed and engraved the 1934 Airmail issue, 1936 high values and the 1941 Centenary set) for proposed Easter Island Anniversary (1888-1938) issue, each hand painted on card, similar to accepted designs for the 1940 semi-postal issue, with proposed 10 c. in ochre showing the 'Moai' standing stones, 20 c. value in green with Map, 30 c. in blue showing the 'Baquedano', 50 c. value in shades of brown showing Brother Eugenio Eyraud, $ 1 in violet showing Commander Policarpo and $ 1.20 value showing the 1888 President, J. M. Balmaceda. A unique group of Essays.
