    1874: "Conra Sello" in black on ½ r. blue and 2 r. green, used on 1874 cover to Seebeck in New York endorsed "con una encomienda adjunta" in manuscript at top, each cancelled by framed "FRANCO" handstamps in blue on despatch with "ADMINISTRACION GENERAL DE CORREOS / SALVADOR" cachet in blue below (Sept 1). Taxed upon arrival with manuscript "4" and "US CHARGE TO COLLECT - 40 Cents" handstamp in black. Reverse with New York arrival cds (Sept 19). Some wrinkles and small envelope imperfections but a rare and most attractive franking to the notorious printer N. Seebeck. Cert. Scheller (2008).

Framed "REJISTRADO" below in blue. Mailed via London with registered transit in red (Dec 28) and oval "R" applied in black, reverse with Munchen arrival (Dec 30). Minor aging of absolutely no significance, a quite wonderful and colourful four colour franking for the specialist. Cert. A. Rendon AIEP (1986).

Reverse with "Listas" cds (Feb 10) of arrival at GPO in Montevideo and circular "10" (centavos) due marking in blue on obverse. A fine cover.

    1866: '20' on 6 c. rose, a used example with large margins all round and trace of adjoining stamp at base, used on 1867 registered cover to Tacuarembó tied by framed "CERTIFICADO" handstamp with repeated strike at left and oval "Montevideo" despatch datestamp (March 13) all in black. Receipted in manuscript on reverse. Envelope slightly tired but a very scarce stamp on letter.

"OUTREMER / PARIS" entry marking (1 July 1873) in blue; the letter struck with handstruck '8' décimes handstamp in blue: 1st July 1873 being the first day of the new reduced rate by private ships: 8 décimes for 10 grams.     1874 (9 March): Partially prepaid cover from Nueva Palmira, Uruguay to Booterstown, Dublin County, Ireland, bearing Uruguay 1866/67 10 c. green, tied by '28' oval black bars and later in transit in Montevideo by blue grill. Oval "CORREOS NUEVA PALMIRA" despatch datestamp in blue alongside as well as French octagonal "MONTEVIDEO PAQ. FR. J No. 1" datestamp (11 March) and T in triangle alongside. Reverse with BOOTERSTOWN arrival (April 6) cds. Some cover wear and tear, nevertheless an interesting shipmail cover with only the inland part prepaid. Cert. Rocha (2008).

    1931 (24 Jan.) Cover from Hankow to Shanghai bearing Junk issue 5 c. claret tied by HANKOW datestamp, handwritten arrival of the next day on reverse. The cover was sent from a sailor on board of the French sloop (aviso) 'REGULUS' stationed in Hankow to a fusilier from the aviso 'MARNE' stationed in Shanghai, both being part of the French 'Forces Navales en Extreme Oroent' (FNEO).

    1945/90ca.: Stock-book with mostly China containing a few better sets from Taiwan and Popular Republic of China, of which the better issues quote around € 3000 in Michel catalogue. The collector marked quotes directly to the stock-book pages, we have used more recent quotes, that are often the same or are bit lower as marked, a used Radio Gymnastics set in blocks of 4 has been quoted as reprint.  The principal value consist in the unused, a few with some toning, majority in excellent condition. Duplication and a few pages of modern Japan haven't been counted.

    Incoming 1905 (7 June): Cover from Vienna to Addis Abeba, franked on reverse with Austria 1905 25 h. ultramarine without lacquer stripes, tied by bluish black WIEN despatch cds with adjacent ADEN (19 June) and DJIBOUTI (29 June) transit cds's. On front the cover was charged with 1 piastre tax stamp, tied by HARAR cds in blue. A fine and fresh combination cover.rnNote: The addressee of the cover is Friedrich Julius Bieber (1873-1924), an Austrian, who visited Ethiopia three times in 1904, 1905, and 1909, and he is recognized as the leading ethnologist dealing with the Kafa in southwestern Ethiopia. In 1905, under the leadership of Ludwig Ritter von Höhnel, an Austrian public mission was despatched to Ethiopia. Bieber joined the journey as a specialist on Ethiopia and an Amharic interpreter.

    1871/2000: Collection consisting of 3 printed Lighthouse Albums 1871/1970ca.. The classic period is in mixed condition, with genuine and questionable stamps. From about ca. 1880 stamps often duplicated with various cancellations or different perforations predominately used. From ca. 1896 on also with unused examples. In the following years (from about 1913 on) the unused material prevails, with many better stamps, sets and souvenir sheets. There is a quite high catalogue value.
