Vapor Po", probably in transit at Cadiz to Montevideo, Uruguay, bearing Spain 1872 40 c. brown, 1873 5 c. rose and 10 c. ultramarine (2) tied by large circular "COMPAÑIA DE NAVIGACION / ITALO-PLATENSE / Vapor Po" handstamp in blue (unique) with two further strikes of arrival cds "Montevideo / Uruguay" (July 4) in black and framed "10 Centimos" postage due handstamp of receipt in black.     Spanish Line 1854: Cover from Madrid to Buenos Ayres endorsed "via Canarias", franked by 1854 2 r. vermilion on thin white paper (Edifil 25), ample to large margins all round for the issue, tied by barred oval obliterators in black. Madrid despatch cds (June 20) at right in blue. Carried entirely by Spanish ship. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 129. A fine and very rare franking. Signed A. Diena. Cert. Comex (2014).

    Spanish Line / RMSP 1855: Cover from Cadiz to Buenos Ayres, Argentina endorsed "Via Canarias, Paquete Ingles", franked by 1865 2 r. violet on bluish, wmk. loops, in a horizontal pair, scissor cut in central margin only, tied by barred oval obliterators in black. Cadiz despatch cds in blue at right (Sept 11). Transferred to British Post Office with TENERIFFE double arc cds on reverse (Sept 15) and struck with very fine "♚ / PAID / AT / TENERIFFE" in black (Gi CC2 = £ 3'750) on obverse alongside "1/-" prepaid in manuscript. Carried on RMSP "Avon" to Rio and the "Camilla" to Buenos Ayres, docketing of receipt internally (Oct 30). Disinfected with slits, probably at Teneriffe against yellow fever outbreak. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 129.
