    1887 (Feb): New Dies 5 c. green on white, perf. 13½, a used single example on "Service Des Postes" Avis de Reception entire printed form addressed locally tied by neat "Port au Prince / Haiti" cds (May 14) in black with further strike used as receipt datestamp (June 30) at lower left. Carried to Paris on the steamer "Alps" (Hamburg America Line) and internally annotated thus. Receipt inside signed in Paris (June 4) and then returned to Haiti. Ironed bend and sides of the wrapper reinforced. The sole New Die 5 c. recorded on an Avis de Reception form. A magnificent and very attractive usage.rnrnProvenance: Collection F.
