    1881 (July 1): 5 c. yellow-green on greenish, plate I, imperforate, a used horizontal pair with sinle 1 c. vermilion on yellowish, 2 c. slate-purple and 7 c. pale blue, this last just shaved, all used on 1881 double rate cover endorsed "Pr. Royal Mail via Southampton" to Paris, France; good to large margins all round, tied by "Port au Prince" cds's (Aug 24) in black. "Calais a Paris" transit cds (Sept 13). The 5 c. pair has been torn from the cover, and later carefully replaced.
