    1913: De La Rue Die Proof for the 1 d. value printed in black on stamp sized glazed thick card paper (27 x 32 mm.) with black surround, Stage 4, with design completed including addition of AUSTRALIA and POSTAGE with head on solid background, upper right corner yet to be completed. Rare and splendid Proof, Perkins Bacon sub-contracted the work to De La Rue (as apparent from these Proofs which were sold from their archives in 1976); this Proof being on the glazed white card is typical of their Die Proofs produced for Great Britain and the Commonwealth. The progressive Proofs were then returned to Perkins Bacon for inspection and completion. Unique. Cert.
