    1845 (Feb 10): Official entire letter from Yalla Le Pourra addressed to Melbourne, registered and rated '10d.' in manuscript (for a distance of between 121 and 170 miles), struck on reverse with "FIERY CREEK / ♛ / PORT PHILIP" in brown ink (Feb 12) - an early usage as the Post Office opened on 1 Sept 1844 - with oval "MELBOURNE / ♛ / PORT PHILIP" arrival (Feb 14, date slugs inverted) also in black. Fiery Creek wasd renamed 'Steatham' on 1 January 1854.
