    Typographed from Woodblocks by Samuel Calvert 1854/55: 6 d. orange-yellow and REGISTERED 1 s. rose-pink & blue, this last apparently with roulettes but mailed prior to the August 1857 Trials of same, tied to 1856 cover endorsed "Registered" to Ledbury, Herefordshire by "61"  barred numeral obliterator of Maryborough in black. Reverse with Maryborough despatch (Aug 2), Melbourne transit (Aug 4), Liverpool datestamp (Nov 21) and thence via London with "REGISTERED / * / G.P.O." in black (Nov 22) and handstruck '6' (pence) in black for registration. Adhesives lifted for checking and replaced. Excellent article on the rouletted adhesives illustrating this cover by Geoff Kellow RDP accompanies the lot. An extraordinarily important and rare cover.
