    1871: De La Rue 2 d. orange, wmk. V and Crown, perf. 10, a used example on 1871 cover to Oulmina, N.E., tied by clear "G.P.O. / ADELAIDE" cds (July 14, 1871), with repeated strike of the datestamp at left. Reverse with Kooringa cds (July 14). Opening tear at top not affecting the appearance - the earliest recorded date of use, pre-dating the Stanley Gibbons listing by one day. Cert.
