1848 (Dec 18): Prepaid cover and complete contents from Macquarie Street, Sydney to Port Phillip, struck with superb octagonal framed "PAID / AT / SYDNEY" in red with manuscript '1/3d.' in red ink alongside; reverse with oval "GENERAL POST OFFICE / SYDNEY" despatch datestamp in black (Dec 18) and "MELBOURNE / ♚ / PORT PHILLIP" arrival (Dec 25).
