    Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'HALF / PENNY' in violet on Great Britain 2 d. grey-green & carmine, an unused example with handstamped surcharge, Gibbons Type 3 in violet, with characteristic defective 'F' in HALF, variety "Surcharge Diagonal Reading Up", fresh and very fine, the large part og. with typical speckles from red blotting paper utilised to store the adhesives.
