    1816 (Jan 1): Cover from Surinam to N.M. Rothschhild in London endorsed 'pr. Queen Charlotte Packet', struck with very fine "SURINAM" fleuron datestamp displaying well on flap, carried at double rate and rated '4/4d.' due upon delivery with London arrival cds on flap (March 5) in red. Mailed during the final year of British Occupation, a superb strike and exceedingly scarce so fine.rnProvenance: Collection Grant Glassco, RL, London, 25-27 Nov 1969, lot 803.
