    1867 (Jan 13/26): Entire letter from Constantinople to Livorno franked by December 1866 Liannos 20 pa. black on green tied by bold strike of POSTE LOCALE / CONSTANTINOPLE datestamp in black. CONSTANTINOPEL cds of Austrian P.O. above (Jan 26) and thence by Italian Steamer with small cartridge 'Piroscafi / Postali / Italiani' alongside. Charged 70 centesimi on arrival with '7' handstamp in black. Reverse with Brindisi cds (Jan 30) aand Livorno cds in red. The adhesive with stains but a scarce usage. Cert. Tevfik Kuyas (1983).

Five red wax seals on reverse, the letter endorsed 'Poids 3' and thus probably accompanying a gift to the addressee: Hassan Pasha of the Imperial Artillery. Rare and most appealing cover, probably the most attractive of the handful of registered covers recorded.

    Kolomea 1919 (Feb 26): Business postcard from Kolomea to Vienna, two file holes at right, franked by un-overprinted Austria 20 h. blue-green applied with brown glue and imperforate 50 sor. black on pink neatly tied by KOLOMEA datestamp in black. Framed Kolomea Censor cachet above in violet-blue. Reverse with business arrival cachet (March 6) struck in red. Despite faults a very rare usage.

    Podillia 1918: Imperial arms 70 kop. orange & brown perf., pane of 24 with one stamp missing at bottom right, some perf. separation with gutter on top and left, showing Combination Tridents with top ten stamps ovpt. by Podillia 3a (Bulat #1482) and remaining 14 stamps by Podillia 13bb (Bulat #1999, CV $65 each). Unmounted mint og, signed Vyrovyj and UPV; these issues are known to specialists, but Bulat only lists the more common and usually fabricated combinations.
