    French P.O. in Alexandria 1866: 1 pi. claret, a used example tied to 1866 combination cover to London by "Poste Vice-Reali Egiziane / Zagasik" cds (April 12), sent via French P.O. in Alexandria with 1863 10 c. bistre and 40 c. orange lightly struck with ''5080' gros chiffres. Underpaid as found to be over 7½ grams (French single rate, whereas the Egyptian single rate was under 10 grams, thus this letter probably weighed over 7½ and under 10). Framed "Affranchisement / Insuffisant" in black and reverse with London arrival cds (April 23) where charged as unpaid at 1/6d. The French adhesives with minor imperfections and untied, nevertheless a rare cover. Signed Brun, Calves. Cert. Todd (2009).

    French Post Office in Port Said 1899: Essay for the overprint prepared by the Postmaster to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the opening of the Suez Canal, the "PORT-SAID" overprint struck in red (and without dot over the "I" of "Port Said"), on France Peace & Commerce 1 c., 2 c., 5 c. blue-green, 5 c. yellow green, 10 c. (Type I), 15 c., 20 c., 25 c. and 50 c., nine fresh mint examples with fine large part original gum. An extremely rare part set of nine, with only 150 stamps printed on most values, only 100 of the 10 c. and only 50 of the 50 c.

    1924 (July 17): Cover from Baghdad via Cairo, addressed to Francis Field, Sutton Coldfield franked by Monarchy 1922 10 m. lake tied by "Continental Savoy / Cairo" datestamp in black, with manuscript on reverse 'Despatched from Baghdad by special plane carrying Sir H. Dobbs, High Commissioner, to Egypt and then posted in Cairo' and signed by Field, further manuscript above 'A reply by return will save a week'. Sir Henry Dobbs was High Commissioner of Iraq from 1923-29 and the longest serving Commissioner during the Mandate. A rare and most unusual cover.

    1828/78: Documents, all concerning Disinfection with 1828 document from Alexandria signed by the Sardinian Consul, 1848 example detailing deaths in Alexandria between July and September 1848 (a staggering 3'870 people), "Patente di Sanita" from Damiette in 1867, one from Cefalonia (itself baked against cholera) concerning the Lazaret, 1850c. document detailing charges of Quarantine in Egypt and another with charges for the Ottoman Empire; some invoices, bills, one or two covers etc. A most interesting lot for the specialist.
