    1849/1934: Group beginning with a prephilatelic letter from CASTELBUONO 1849, rare cancel ITIRI on 20 c. Sardegna (signed Bolaffi and Diena, Sassone R2), there are three stamps from Toscana off paper and a 40 c. 'Provisional Gouvernement' on folded letter sheet addressed to Giuseppe Cappellini, Hotel Baur, Zurich. Several pages with Italian Colonies unused, San Marino, Vatican City and Fiume mostly mounted. Further a few Albania including Italian Occupation (these mostly never hinged), Liubliana, Montenegro including rare 2 Lire 1942 with stain spots, but signed A. Diena.

    1818/1950: Interesting accumulation beginning with some pre-philatelic covers; from Sardegna an excellent 20 c. 1853 issue on cover from NIZZA (certificate Roumet), a 5 c. printed matter 1857 localy letter from Nizza (signed Raybaudi). Stationery, picture postcards and covers with an 'insured' letter 1919 for 10'000 Lit franked with 2x 5 Lit (+ others), including censored items 'Regno' and a few 'Repubblica' period etc. Further three decrees, one of which about introducing of Cavallini imprints on letter-sheets and showing the examples of the two sets of three different imprints each, one printed in dark green, the other set embossed print only. The pages are a bit creased at the bottom. Another decree about reorganization of the postal system (some tolerable foxing), a third one 'LETTRES-PATENTES'. These three documents are printed in French language, the two first have been printed in 'Turin' (Torino), the latter in Chambéry. To this added a list of the post offices of Sardinia from 1851 in Italian language.

    Italian post offices in Egypt 1871 (Oct 7): Cover from Alexandria to Paris, bearing Italian definitive issue 1863 DLR printing 10 c. orange-ochre in a horizontal pair, a fresh multiple, tied by light '234' numeral obliterator with matching "ALESSANDRIA D'EGGITO / POSTE ITALIANE" despatch cds and framed "FRANCOBOLLO INSUFFICIENTE" handstamp, both in black as well as French Lanslebourg entry cds in blue alongside. Reverse with "TORINO SUCCURSALE No 1" transit (Oct 11) cds. Taxed with manuscript '10' décimes upon arrival. Minor perforation irregularities not distracting from the attractiveness and rarity of this exceptional cover sent from the Italian P.O. in Alexandria to France. Cert. Colla (2021) Zanaria = € 6'000.rnNote: Mail with Italian services to France via the Italian homeland is extremely rare as there was an effective French service from Alexandria to Marseille. The Italian service to France gained some importance during and after the Franco-Prussian War when French shipmail services were reduced.     1969: "Kingdom of Libya" definitive set of 20 values printed by Bradbury Wilkinson from 1 m. to 85 m. in small format and four values: 100 m. to £ 1 in large format, the set was initially printed in circa February 1969 but cancelled due to the September (al-Fateh) Revolution that led to the fall of King Idris and brought Colonel Gaddafi to power; the astonishing sets as listed in Sassone but with additional unlisted values: 2 m. value in pink and a 45 m. value in bright blue. The low values in small format in part sheets of 80 and the top values in large format in part sheets of 40, mostly fresh and fine but for crease affecting two 85 m. values, full unmounted og. The following issues often used and unused, sometimes in blocks of 4 or on cover or FDC. Better souvenir sheets, sometimes present multiple times. Many circulated inside the Occupied Zone, but there is also some material to abroad, including a 30 g. stationery postcard to Argentina. There is stationery overprinted often on former Polish stationery and former Polish stationery barred prepared to serve as forms (unused).  A smaller part are philatelic items.
