Mexico 1872/74: 50 c. yellow, 1-74, pin-perforated horizontal pair of fine colour, used on 1874 entire letter at under 2 ounce rate to Guadalajara, tied by "FRANCO / MEXICO" cds (Feb 15) in black. Slight horizontal crease at base of entire would benefit by refolding. An extraordinarily rare franking and a fine entire. Signed Calves. Cert. 1858 (March): 1 d. blue, a used horizontal pair with large even margins all round, used on Feb 17,1859 entire letter from Iquique to Valparaiso, Chile, endorsed "por vapor", the multiple tied in transit in Huamchuco by dotted "HUAM." handstamp in red. Charged at arrival with '15' centavos due. 1872: Le Coq 1 p. orange, the lower right half of a bisected stamp originating from a coil join position, a superb example with large margins, used on Nov 14, 1876 envelope from Cuzco to Lima, the bisect tied by light CUZCO cds in black, reverse with "LIMA PRINCIPAL" arrival (Nov 20) cds. 1866/67: Llama 10 c. vermilion, a used horizontal strip of six on June 1, 1874 registered cover from Huancavelica to Huancayo with all stamps except one cancelled by HUANCAVELICA cds with eight strikes of the five leaved handstamps at the corner edges, framed CERTIFICACION registration handstamp (Lamy & Rinck fig. 89) all in black alongside. 1879: Coat of Arms 1 c. green and 10 c. black, used on June 22, 1883 envelope from San Salvador to London, endorsed "Via de Panamá", cancelled / tied by superb intaglio star in circle with a "SAN SALVADOR" despatch cds in red and clear French octagonal "ASPINWALL / PAQ. FR. A No. 2 1 JUIL. 83" shipmail datestamp (Salles vol IV, fig. 1416) alongside. Reverse with London arrival (July 25, 1882) cds in red. Horizontal fold and tear at right of adhesives, nevertheless an appealing Shipmail cover which made its journey on the steamer 'Lafayette' on the French line A fom Aspinwall/Colon to St. Nazaire.rnProvenance: 100. 1847 (April 30): Entire letter from Montevideo to Cadiz, Spain, sent unpaid without any Uruguayan postmark, Cadiz arrival cds in red (July 19) on reverse, charged with "5 Rs." due to pay in red. Obverse struck in addition by YNDIAS handstamp in red, a rare usage as only five covers originating in Uruguay are known with this Spanish mark. Cert.
