    1847: Embossed 1 s. green, used example probably from the corner of the sheet with good to enormous margins, on 1854 cover to Baltimore, USA, cancelled by "392" numeral obliterator in green ink. Carried on the Cunard Steamer 'Europa' with incomplete circular arrival datestamp in red of Boston with 'Paid 24' at base (Aug 31) and '21 / CENTS' credit mark in red. Reverse with corresponding 'Dudley' cds on reverse (Aug 14) in green and Liverpool transit cds (Aug 15) in blue. File folds well away from the fine adhesive, a scarce and attractive cover Gi = £ 1'900.

The cover, with internal reinforcement, mentions enclosures. Reverse with London arrival (June 27) in red and Revenue Office 'received' cancel inside of the same date. The Karl Louis Card Index records just one other internal 10 d. + 1 s. franking, used from Cheltenham to Bristol.
