    1884 (April 1): 5 d. dull green, lettered MG-MH, a used horizontal pair, one with contemporary fault, on 1885 cover from Raithby endorsed 'via Brindisi' and addressed to a "Captain Buckle RN, HMS Invincible, Singapore", tied by 'Spilsby / 728' duplex in black (June 25). Reverse with 'Raithby' cds (June 25). Closed cover tears but a scarce usage to an unusual destination Gi K23 = £ 350.rnNote: HMS Invincible was Admiral Seymour's temporary flagship at the 1882 bombardment of Alexandria. She provided men for the naval brigade that was subsequently landed and she also provided men for Charles Beresford's naval brigade in the Sudan campaign of 1885. By this date she was in Asian waters on her way to China.
