The collection of Dr. Hugo Goeggel documents the development of the post and the structure of the postal routes with covers from the year 1601 up to the beginning of the wars of independence in 1810. With many postmarks, especially those from smaller post offices, there are the greatest rarities and the earliest known usages. Dr. Hugo Goeggel’s postal history collection of the colonial period of Colombia by probably the most important collection of this exceptional collecting area in the history of Colombian philately.
