    St. Laurent Du Maroni-Cayenne-Inini Route 1921 (Sept): TAG 75 c. black on greyish paper, the outstanding tête-bêche pair used on 1908/25 15 c. violet postal stationery envelope to St. Laurent Du Maroni, the pair with huge margins all round cancelled by two strikes of the AVION handstamp and by 'Cayenne / Guyane Francaise' datestamps (1.MAI.1922) in black, used in combination with 1908/25 5 c. green and 20 c. brown. Small nick at top of envelope away from the pair, reverse with flap missing and the pair lifted and replaced for expertising, but a fabulous rarity of French Colonial philately, with just two covers known bearing the tête-bêche pair.     Upper Volta - Haute Volta 1920/1963c.: Colony period, the extensive collection with the stamp issues mint & used and postal stationery, unique Madagascar UPU Specimen pieces (4), many hundreds of covers with study of the Postal Rates and the changing borders and boundaries of the Colony, Postmark interest obviously abounds throughout with noted early strikes of Banfora, Bobo-Dioulasso, Boromo, Dedougou, Diebougou, Dori, Gaoua. Hounde, Kaya, Koudougou, Leo, Ouahagouya, Po, Tenkodogo, mail from 1933-1948 used in former areas of Upper Volta now transferred to Niger, Ivory Coast and Soudan etc. with many covers and much cancellation and rate interest, 1956 unrecorded Telegram form and fine 'Interim Period' collection between Dec 1958 and Aug 1960 just prior to Independence, with an array of colourful (and relatively scarce) later covers plus a few Proofs etc. Probably one of the finest collections extant of this country.
