    1849/50: 25 c. blue horizontal pair with large margins all round and 1 fr. carmine-brown with large margins all round, scissor cut in margin well away from frame, used on 1851 cover to Philadelphia and tied by 'grille sans fin' in black with Paris despatch cds alongside (Sept 16). Circular "Br. Packet / Boston" cds in black at left and handstamped "5" internal due marking also on obverse. A fresh, fine and attractive cover.

Underpaid for this routing with framed "Affranchisement / Insuffisant" in red and rare usage on a stamped cover of framed "*FR*/2F" Accountancy handstamp (Van Der Linden fig. 1262) struck in black. On arrival "New York / U.S. Notes / 18" applied in black (Oct 12). Some scuffs and ageing but a rare entire. Signed Goebel. Cert. Calves (1981).

    Von Korsika an die Berner Fischerpost 1788: Faltbrief von einem Oberst des schweizerischen Regiments in Bastia (18. Mai) mit aufgesetztem CORSE (Lenain Nr. 6 von Bastia) über Marseille und Genf nach Bern, taxiert durch die franz. Post mit "16" Sols (zwei Sols für das Schiff Bastia - Marseille und 14 Sols weiter bis Genf), umgerechnet durch die Fischerpost in 22 Kreuzer, dem Empfänger wurden "26" Kreuzer in Rechnung gestellt. Beleg ist eine grosse Seltenheit, der erste Brief aus Korsika in die Schweiz. Abgebildet und beschrieben in "Auslandspostverkehr der Alten Eidgenossenschaft", S. 131.

    1822 (March 22): Entire letter from a Lieutenant Brandenburg in the Swiss Guard, mailed to Zug / Switzerland struck with fine impression of framed "P.P. / BAU. DE LA COUR" in red and straight line "PORT PAYÉ" in black, prepaid 11 decimes in manuscript on reverse and with red ink 10 kreuzer on front. A rare and fine entire with full transcription of contents.

    1754 (Sept 12): Entire letter with interesting content, written to Chur and endorsed "par Huningue, Basle et Zurich" on front panel, struck with superb strike of straight line "CAMP SUR SAMBRE" handstamp in red, the Camp being under the command of the Prince du Soubise at this date. Charged 32 kr. due on reverse in manuscript red crayon on arrival. A delightful and rare entire.

Small inclusion at top of entire but rare.
