Backstamped at Bogotá (June 26). An unusual cover as there are no Colombia stamps present and the cover should have travelled via Gonzalo Mejia in New York for shipping as an enclosure. United States 1923/28 Scadta 30 c. blue with machine overprint "EU" in black and USA Washington 2 c. carmine, each tied to 1929 cover to Bogotá by six line blue cachet "Vuelo / NEW YORK-BOGOTA / Aereoplano "RICUARTE" / piloto: Benjamin Mendez / Suscripcion evantada por / "MUNDO-AL-DIA" 1929" in blue with repeated fine strike below. The Pilot, Benjamin Mendez left New York on November 23, arriving in Colón (Panama) on December 1, in Barranquilla on Dec 30 and at Girardot on the same day.
