1850: Carta a mano 10 c. black type Ib, a splendid unused example with large margins at base and left showing extremely large sheet margins at top and right (10 : 13-13.5 mm) and part of the watermark at lower right. The fine and fresh adhesive is in a deep vibrant shade and has its full original gum without any hinge remnants, even in the margins, an exceptional adhesive decribed by Ulrich Ferchenbauer as 'praktisch postfrisch'. 1853 (24. Sept.): Falso di Verona 15 c. vermilion, even large margins all round, used on entire letter from Verona to Roveretto. The faked adhesive was recognized as such, the letter was confiscated and used as evidence in the process against the falsifier Gajetano Alberti, a corresponding court notification "12 al. Po 29" (= allegato n. 12 al processo 29) in red crayon at right. An extremely rare item, only five of these court letters related to the Verona falsifications are known in the literature. Certs. E. Oct.): Lettersheet from Venezia to Ferrara, forwarded to Bologna bearing 1863 2 so. dark yellow perf. 14 in combination with 1864 15 so. light brown perf. 9½, both examples in fresh colour and well embossed, the perforation of the 15 soldi with some irregularities at right due to its position at the sheet edge, otherwise both adhesives well perforated, tied together by a central strike of single circle "VENEZIA 11 / 10" cds, the 2 soldi in addition by red "P.D." handstamp, reverse with FERRARA transit and BOLOGNA arrival cds's, both from 12. October. An exceptionally rare and attractive combination as the regular rate from the second Austrian to the first Italian rayon was only 16 soldi, in addition a combination of the two perforations of the Arms definitives.
