Revenue 1892: De La Rue Appendix sheet dated "Aug 8th 1892" at top in manuscript, bearing nine Imperforate Essays of the "Revenue / Revenue" Keyplate (the design was eventually used in Seychelles in 1915, Barefoot records just a 4 c. value), with four values in dull purple and five in dull green, with countrey legend "SEYCHELLES" hand-painted on each and Duty Plates also hand-painted on all values. Initialled and dated as accepted at base "8.8.92" in red ink. Not illustrated in the "De La Rue Collection". Magnificent and beautiful Essays - this describer has handled a great many Appendix sheets during the last few years and I consider this example as one of the very finest productions from the artists employed at De La Rue.rnrnProvenance: Collection Lt. Revenue 1901: De La Rue Essay, hand-painted in bright red and Chinese white for the embossed Duty Die cancel (dated for Christmas Day: 25-12-01), applied over Imperforate 50 c. Revenue Colour Trial in greyish-green and Duty Plate handpainted in rose-red and Chinese white (design as utilised in 1915) affixed to small piece.
