Crown CC, perf. 14, a used example vertically trisected (2 d.) and a twelfth part of the same stamp (½ d.) alongside used on 1884 cover to Basseterre, St. Kitts paying the 2½ d. rate, tied by "A08" obliterator in black with faint 'Montserrat / Paid' below and 'St. Kitts' arrival cds (May 3) alongside. The envelope folded slightly, 10 mm., at left for better Exhibit display, a remarkable and very rare cover illustrated in colour on the dust-jacket of the Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia. Unique. Cert. A very rare stamp, believed to have been just one sheet printed, possibly as a Colour Trial (see Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia page 85) and abandoned due to the 'Montserrat' not being clearly seen on the blue-green background.
