    1882: Essay for proposed Registration Fee, circular design for 2 d. value, entirely hand-painted on pale blue background, wording "Montserrat Registration Fee / Two Pence" and dotted surround picked out in Chinese white with Crown in black on white background, on tracing paper ex the De La Rue archives (74 x 98 mm.) dated on reverse with handstamp "22 JUL 82" at top. One tiny rust spot away from design. A truly beautiful example of the De La Rue artisit's handiwork. Unique.rnProvenance: RL, Bermuda, 27 Jan 1978, lot 1412; Collection C.
