    1862/63: France 80 c. carmine, a single example used on 1865 mourning envelope to Bordeaux tied by bold strike of "ADMON. DE CORREOS / MONTEVIDEO" oval datestamp (March 1) in black. Probably carried on the RMSP "Parana" which left Montevideo on the same day, arriving at Southampton on 5 April. London cds on reverse in red (April 5) and struck there with framed "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy marking in black. Calais entry mark and charged '8' décimes in black. An exceptional and beautiful cover. Cert. Roumet (1994) "seul pièce connue".

    1866/67: 1 c. black, perf. 8½-13½, a used example on 1 September 1873 Printed Matter entire from Montevideo to France, applied over wrapper band and letter paying the internal rate; carried on Steamer "Magellan" via London with "ANGL. / AMB. CALAIS" in red (Oct) overstruck by '20 c.' due marking in red on arrival. The adhesive not tied but undoubtedly belongs. Rare.

    1866/67: 5 c. deep blue, perf. 8½-13½, two examples used on 1875 entire letter to Paris endorsed "p. Steamer Mondego", tied by small "Correo / Montevideo" cds (June 2) in black with repeated strike below. Carried via London with "GB / 1F 60 c." accountancy marking in black, Calais entry marking of 1st July 1875 - the first day of the UPU - and charged '12' décimes due handstruck in black. France, however, whilst a signatory of the Berne agreement, elected to join on 1 January 1876.

    1866/67: 5 c. blue, perf. 8½-13½, a horizontal pair used on 1873 cover to Marseille tied by "A" obliterator in black with Montevideo cds alongside (Jan 10). Carried on RMSP Steamer "Boyne" with London transit cds on reverse where "GB / 1F 60 c." accountancy marking applied. Thence via Calais (Feb 17) and charged with handstruck '12' décimes due in black.

    1866/67: 10 c. green, perf. 8½-13½, a used example on 1873 cover to Bordeaux, carried by a non-Contract 'bâtiments du commerce' Steamer, endorsed at top "Par Liffey", tied by numeral handstamp with "Correo / Montevideo" cds (May 31) in black at left. "OUTREMER / PARIS" entry marking (1 July 1873) in blue; the letter struck with handstruck '8' décimes handstamp in blue: 1st July 1873 being the first day of the new reduced rate by private ships: 8 décimes for 10 grams. Rare.

    1866/67: 10 c. green, perf. 8½-13½, a used marginal example on 1873 cover to Bordeaux, carried by a non-Contract 'bâtiments du commerce' Steamer, endorsed at top "Packet anglais "Liffey", Lisbonne voie Espagne par Irun", tied by weak "Correo / Montevideo" cds (May 31) in black with repeated strike at left. "OUTREMER / PARIS" entry marking (1 July 1873) in blue and aging and file folds; however the letter should have been struck with handstruck '8' décimes handstamp: 1st July 1873 being the first day of the new reduced rate by private ships: 8 décimes for 10 grams.

    1866/67: 20 c. rose, perf. 8½-13½, a used top marginal example on 1874 cover to Marseille tied by barred "G" obliterator in black, with small "Correo / Montevideo" cds below, endorsed and carried by French Packet "Orenoque" with octagonal "MONTEVIDEO / PAQ. FR. J No. 2" datestamp (Oct 14) in black (Salles fig. 1076). Charged at double rate with handstruck '24' décimes handstamp in black. Minor imperfections but scarce.
