    1855: Perkins Bacon 1 d. dark green, used with 1856/58 Adelaide printing  2 d. red and 1 s. orange in a horizontal pair, margins large to just shaved in places, used on 1858 piece cancelled in black. Reverse with of piece with 'Manchester' arrival cds (Aug 9, 1858). A delightful three colour mixed issue usage. Ex collection Mursell Gi = £ 1'500+.

    1855: Perkins Bacon 6 d. deep blue, 1856/58 Adelaide printing 1 d. deep yellow-green and 2 d. red in a horizontal pair, margins touched to large with the 1 d. very fine with portion of adjoining stamp at right, all used on small piece cancelled in black with partial 'Paid' datestamp in blue (April 10). A scarce and attractive three colour mixed issue usage. Ex collection G.S. Napier Gi = £ 850+.

    1855: Perkins Bacon 2 d. rose-carmine, a superb example of rich colour with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at right, used on 1856 cover to Gawler Place, Adelaide tied in black by obliterator and "GAWLER / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp (May 16). Reverse, one side flap missing, with 'G.P.O. / South Australia' datestamp in black. A wonderful stamp on a charming and scarce cover.

    1855: Perkins Bacon 6 d. deep blue, a superb used example withllarge to huge margins all round, showing portions of adjoing stamps at top and at right, used on 1856 entire letter to Melbourne tied by '60' numeral obliterator with corresponding "PENOLA / STH AUSTRALIA" datestamp at left (Nov 20) in black. One side flap missing of no significance, a magnificent stamp on a most attractive cover.

    1856/58: Adelaide printing 1 d. yellow-green, a used horizontal pair on 1860 entire letter to Strathallyn cancelled by bold '100' numeral obliterator with "MILANG / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp at left (Feb 3) in black. Reverse with "Strathallyn" arrival cds (Feb 4) in blue. Tiny closed hole on front panel but a fresh and very fine entire - just 9 covers bearing the Adelaide 1 d. are recorded, just four of these bear 1 d. pairs.     1867: Imperforate Plate Proof for the 4 d. value, printed in claret on thick card paper, a block of eighteen (6 x 3), marginal from right of sheet, of lovely rich colour with large margins all round and irregularly separated at base with last stamp just touched, vertical crease between first and second rows and in large sheet margin; however a superb and spectacular multiple and the largest recorded.

    Departmentals 1868/74: Group 100+ primarily used Departmentals with the typical quality of these issues and a large variety of overprints incl. "C.S." Chief Secretary in black on 5 d., perf. 12 x rouletted, "S.T." Superintendent of Telegraphs in black on 6 d. dull-blue rouletted. A varied and interesting lot with cancellation interest, the majority of the stamps rated R-2R by Butler.
