1855: Perkins Bacon 1 d. dark green, used with 1856/58 Adelaide printing 2 d. red and 1 s. orange in a horizontal pair, margins large to just shaved in places, used on 1858 piece cancelled in black. Reverse with of piece with 'Manchester' arrival cds (Aug 9, 1858). A delightful three colour mixed issue usage. 1855: Perkins Bacon 2 d. rose-carmine, a superb example of rich colour with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at right, used on 1856 cover to Gawler Place, Adelaide tied in black by obliterator and "GAWLER / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp (May 16). 1856/58: Adelaide printing 1 d. yellow-green, a used horizontal pair on 1860 entire letter to Strathallyn cancelled by bold '100' numeral obliterator with "MILANG / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp at left (Feb 3) in black. Reverse with "Strathallyn" arrival cds (Feb 4) in blue. Tiny closed hole on front panel but a fresh and very fine entire - just 9 covers bearing the Adelaide 1 d. are recorded, just four of these bear 1 d. pairs.
