    1843 (June 24): Entire letter from Santiago de Cuba to St. Thomas prepaid '1/-' in manuscript, struck with superb "♚ / PAID / AT / ST. JAGO-DE-CUBA" in red. The entire, addressed to the Forwarding Agents Schon, Willink & Co., is somewhat typically fragile but bears a superb strike of the double arc ST. JAGO-DE-CUBA cds in black on reverse (July 5).     1844 (April 12): Entire letter from Santaigo de Cuba to Bordeaux via London, struck with very fine double arc ST. JAGO-DE-CUBA cds in black (April 18). London transit in red (May 23) and struck there with framed COLONIES / &c. ART.12 in red, charged '20' décimes due on delivery.

    1870 (Oct 24): Great Britain 1865 4 d. vermilion pl. 11 and 1867 1 s. green pl. 4, both of rich colour, used on 1870 cover to Vera Cruz, Mexico tied by "HAVANA / C58" duplex in black (Oct 24), with "7" reales due marking in black applied upon receipt at left. The 1 s. with one short perf. but an early usage of the duplex on a charming and rare cover.
