1852: Registered cover from La Paz to Tacna, Peru with manuscript weight "¾ onza" at upper left, struck with fifteen six pointed star "*" handstamps around edges to denote registration with fine "FRANCA" and two line "CERTIFICACION / A LA PAZ" all in red. State on thick paper, an unused block of eight, positions 2-5 / 14-17, and an unused block of four, positions 27-28 / 39-40 rejoined to form a block of twelve and judging from the shade part of the original block, large margins all round and of fine fresh colour, unused without gum. A superb and rare early State multiple. Reverse with fancy oval framed Argentinian "CORREOS / DE YAVI" transit. A magnificent and famous entire in the foremost quality to an extremely rare destination for Bolivian Mail of this period. 1867/68: Condor 10 c. brown, a used example in a deep shade, tied to March 17, 1868 entire letter to Cochabamba, Cruz Torres correspondence by circular "COROCORO" handstamp in black. The margins on the 10 c. adhesive cut around frame as ever when used from Corocoro, with further strike of the despatch handstamp used as seal on reverse. Only known postally used from two towns (La Paz and Corocoro) during the first few months of 1868. 1912: "Villabella Provisional", 20 c. on 2 c. green & black, surcharged diagonally reading down in blue, a fine example tied to 1912 cover from Villabella to Hamburg by small target handstamps with oval "Administracion de Correos / de Villabella", both struck in green at lower left. Reverse with "PORTO VELHO / (AMAZONAS)" datestamp in violet (Feb 10) and 'Recepcao / Amazonas' cds in black (Feb 17). Minor opening tear on reverse mentioned for full accuracy but exceedingly rare, just this example and the Ortiz-Patiño cover also to Hamburg, are recorded. Cobija Provisional 1917: Type I "Correos / 10 cts. / 1917" in red on 1 c. blue Transacciones Fiscal, used on the famous cover to Chicago endorsed 'via Pará (Brazil)' in manuscript, tied by circular "CORREOS DE BOLIVIA / COBIJA" datestamp well struck in violet (Feb 1, 1917). Reverse with 'Xapuri / (Acre)' transit cds (Feb 6) and unclear February 25 datestamp in black. Some minor edge wear mentioned for accuracy but of no significance, this being the sole recorded usage of this rare Provisional on letter.
