First Issue on medium soft yellowish paper 1853 (Nov 1): 1 d. blue, positions 19-20, a fresh unused hoizontal pair with most of third stamp at right, all lines and cross-hatching clear and distinct, corner marginal from lower left of sheet, huge margins all round, the first stamp with trace of thin and sheet marginal inscription "Printed by C. H. Best", the third bisected stamp with fault. Some minor gum wrinkling of no significance on part og. A famous and truly extraordinary multiple of great beauty. Cert. 1857 (May): 4 d. pale blue, no watermark, an irregular used block of seven, margins touched to fine, each stamp cancelled "58" numeral of Waterloo Point in manuscript. Pinhole and small internal closed tear not affecting the fine appearance of an extremely scarce multiple. The largest used multiple recorded (ref. Tinsley page 26).
