Lusk" at top, with long entire letter regarding legal problems, struck on reverse with fine step-type DEAL / SHIP LETTER in black and London arrival cds (April 24) in red. 1853: Courier 1 d. pale blue on yellowish paper with distinct cross-hatching, a used horizontal strip of four, with large margin at base but touched on three sides with some marginal indentations and ironed creases, nevetheless of attractive appearance and lightly cancelled by "59" numeral obliterators in black. 1853: 1 d. Courier, the 1889 reprint sheet of twenty-four (6 x 4), struck in pale blue, imperforate, inset in card, each stamp with two defacing lines across the design vignette, fresh and fine and seldom seen nowadays. First Issue on medium soft yellowish paper 1853 (Nov 1): 1 d. blue, positions 19-20, a fresh unused hoizontal pair with most of third stamp at right, all lines and cross-hatching clear and distinct, corner marginal from lower left of sheet, huge margins all round, the first stamp with trace of thin and sheet marginal inscription "Printed by C. H. Best", the third bisected stamp with fault. Some minor gum wrinkling of no significance on part og. A famous and truly extraordinary multiple of great beauty. Cert. 1857 (May): 4 d. pale blue, no watermark, an irregular used block of seven, margins touched to fine, each stamp cancelled "58" numeral of Waterloo Point in manuscript. Pinhole and small internal closed tear not affecting the fine appearance of an extremely scarce multiple. The largest used multiple recorded (ref. Tinsley page 26). TAS, a spectacular unused block of twelve (6 x 2) from the base of the sheet, entirely imperforate and each overprinted SPECIMEN in black (Type 2), showing 62 mm. gap between stamps and the base of the sheet with diagonal TAS watermark showing through and complete TASMANIA watermark at base.
