Minor aging from hinge on upper stamp, the lower stamp with some browned intact original gum, an extremely rare and fine multiple. Cert. An extremely rare pair with just five pairs 'with and without' the error possible. Exceptional exhibition item. Cert. BPA (1956) Gi = £ 21'000.rnrnNote: Just one sheet with this variety was found: the diagonal overprint being applied initially and the horizontal as a correction to the error. Positions 5, 10, 25 and 28-30 were left untouched by the diagonal overprint; all were cancelled to order except positions 14, 15, 17 and 19.

    1962: Unissued 5 s. 'Patrolman', multicoloured, fresh and very fine, unmounted og. An extremely rare stamp with just 60 stamps issued in error.rnrnNote: The 5 s. Patrolman value was due to be issued in September 1962 alongside the 3 s. (Gi 32), the Stamp Committee deemed the image of an indigenous Patrolman carrying a rifle was unsuitable for the times. One single sheet of 60 stamps in known to have passed into circulation: thus this stamp represents the rarest and most historically significant stamp of the period.

Stamp" on each stamp, tied by 'Daru / Ppapua' cds's (Dec 15). Reverse with further Daru cds, 'Thursday Island / Queensland' cds (Dec 19) and 'Lower Hutt / NZ' (Jan 5, 1915) cds.
