'2', imperforate, Plate 1, the famous and outstanding irregular block of fifteen, positions 12 / 23-24 / 31-36 / 43-48, with large margins all round, touched only on position 12 and shaved at the top of position 32. Two small closed tears at lower left and between third and fourth stamps and a diagonal crease none of which detract from the appearance of truly magnificent multiple showing the very extensive "Third Retouch" to position 24 with scrolling, Queen's Crown and TWO PENCE all retouched, and the "First Retouch" to position 36 below, retouched either side of SOUTH and to the left of WALES, fresh and fine, large part og. Illustrated in 'The Stamps of New South Wales' by G. J. 1892: Printed form 'Specimen & Reprint Stamps of New South Wales With Years of Issue' featuring New South Wales issues with 28 Postage Stamps from 'Registration' (6 d.) red & blue perf., through to Courbould 5 s. purple, Map 5 s. lilac and 'Postage' in blue on 10 s. lilac & claret and £ 1 lilac & carmine, variously overprinted REPRINT (eight stamps), 'Specimen' (18) or upper case SPECIMEN (2) in black, with 1891/92 Postage Due set of ten values from ½ d. to 20 s. all overprrinted lower case 'Specimen' (4 values) or SPECIMEN (6) in black. Annotated at top "Madame Guernier, voilà le Stock", presumably by a Postal employee.
