    Guadeloupe 1852 (Oct 29): Envelope from Point-a-Pitre to Six Fours, Var, France, franked by Cérès 1 fr. carmine, a fine four margined example used with vert. pair 25 c. blue, all tied on arrival by grille sans fin obliterator in black with framed PD in red alongside. Despatch cds on front, reverse with arrival cds. Backflap is missing but a fine presentation of the 150 c. rate to France with a British vessel, a usage which was only possible from Guadeloupe between November 1851 and August 1853.     Gouadeloupe 1873: General colonial issue Napoleon lauré 30 c. brown in a block of four with good to enormous margins all round showing parts of the stamps on the left and two examples of 1871 Cérès 10 c. bistre, also fresh and fine with large margins, all tied by lozange obliterator to outer letter sheet to Marseille with "POINTE A PITRE .. AVRIL 73" cds and framed PD in black as well as "COLONIES FRA. V. ANGL. 14 MAI 73" cds in blue alongside. Addressee's name crossed out, but an exceptional and appealing presentation of the double weight rate of 140 c. in the tariff of October 1864 via a British vessel. Yvert not listed.
