Russo / Japanese War 1905 (June 4): Postcard of the Battle Cruiser "Kasuga", written from the ship, with description in Japanese describing the Battle of Tsushima Straits where the Japanese Fleet under Admiral Togo annihilated the Russian Fleet (May 27/29). 1907/19: Collection 420 picture post cards mainly unused and only few with commemorative cancels, housed in two large Leporellos (29 x 37 x 6 cm) bound in brown silk with hand made and colourful embroideries, one volume depicting Mt. Fujiama on front, including better cards, such as street views, Japanese Navy and Military scenes, castles, temples and shrines, traditional Japanese Theatre, National Parks, bird's view of villages and landscapes as well as some cards from Korea with views of Seoul or Fusan and China with Tsingtau. Silk binding on one front of album with small water stains, wheras the cards are throughout above the average and in very fine condition.
