    British P.O. in Paita 1868: Lecoq 1 d. green, fine example used on 1871 cover from Paita to Bordeaux endorsed 'Vapor Peru' at top, boldly tied by 'C43' obliterator of the British Post Office in Paita, with single ring PAYTA cds at left (Sept 30). Three line dated PANAMA TRANSIT below (Oct 4) and thence via London (Oct 29) where framed GB/1F 90c. Accountancy marking was applied in black. Charged with handstruck '15' décimes due marking on arrival in Bordeaux (Oct 29). A wonderful cover of great charm and rarity. Signed Lamy.
