    1847: Cover to the Ecuador Consul General in Washington D.C., struck on arrival with 'NEW YORK / SHIP / JUL 21 / 7 cts.' in red, reverse with manuscript docketing 'Quito 8 June 1847, Rec'd 22 July 1847' and near complete red wax seal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Manuel Gomez de la Torre). Edge wear but scarce.
