Lot# 1364 - 202-204 Auction

  • Lot# : 1364 Lombardy-Venetia

    1 / 1
1850: 15 c. vermilion in a hor. pair, the left stamp in type IIa and the right in type I (left stamp with corner bend just mentioned for accuracy), printed on ribbed paper (carta a coste verticali), tied by four-ring "MIRANO 31/7" cds to part letter (upper and lower backflap are missing), sent to Venice with arrival datestamp on reverse. The originally double-weight cover was closed by two St. Andrew's crosses on ribbed paper, the pair shows a handwritten notation "Manutto" in the same handwriting like the address, presumably the name of the sender to prevent theft of the stamps. An interesting item, cert. E. Diena (1985) Ferchenbauer = € 3'000 for the pair on cover.
