    French P.O. in Alexandria 1869: Cover from Alexandria to Rapperswil, Switzerland endorsed 'par vapeur Anglais' franked by France 1862 40 c. orange in a horizontal strip of three all tied by 5080 gros chiffres in black. 'Alexandrie / Egypte' cds below (March 20) in black and red Marseille entry marking (March 26) on front. The reverse with Basel cds (March 27) and Rapperswil arrival of the same day. A charming and scarce franking.
