    1898: Soldier's letter from Merowi, Sudan struck on despatch with MEROWI cds and 'T' mark in black, taxed on arrival with 1889 Postage Due 2m. green and diagonally bisected example tied by 'Hamoul' datestamp (May 31) in black. Cover with heavy central crease but with Wadi Halfa, Cairo and Hamoul datestamps on reverse.
