    10 pa. mauve, diagonally bisected example, right half, used to pay the 5 paras rate on  complete 1872 LA TROMBETTA Newspaper, tied by V. R. POSTE EGIZIANE / ALESSANDRIA (Jan 20) in black. The piece re-affixed to the original Newspaper, a rare and very fine usage during the 'grace period' of the second issue: probably the latest recorded usage of this stamp as a bisect. Rare and most appealing item, illustrated in Smith on Colour Plate 16. Signed Todd AIEP. Gi = £ 750 (on piece) / Nile Post D9g = $ 500 (on piece).
