    1 pi. claret used on defective cover front to England with Great Britain 1865 6 d. lilac, pl. 6; the 1 pi. tied by POSTE VICE-REALI EGIZIANE / ZIFTA & MITG datestamp (Aug 22) and the 6 d. tied by BO1 of British P.O. in Alexandria, with ALEXANDRIA British P.O. cds below (Aug 24). Found to be double weight and struck on despatch with INSUFFICIENTLY PREPAID handstamp (note manuscript '2' at left) and charged 1 shilling due on arrival (double the deficiency) with circular MORE TO PAY handstamp. Despite faults, a rare piece.
