    1898: 1 c. ochre-buff used on local cover to the German Post Office, tied by 'Pa-kua' in black with 'Shanghai Local Post' cds at left (Jan 5). Straight line instructional marking RECEIVED IN Dirty CONDITION in violet with 'Dirty' in manuscript crayon. Extremely rare, also a further matching 1899 cover without the marking.
